Glass Skin: Everything you need to know

Glass Skin: Everything you need to know

For all the TikTok users among us, it's almost impossible that you haven't seen this skincare trend pass by. We are, of course, talking about a Glass skin! And for anyone who has seen the results pass by, we don't need to explain that this is a real gamechanger for your skin.

Glass what?

A glass skin means that your skin is so even, smooth and hydrated that it looks like it is made of glass. The "glass skin" trend originated in South Korea, and despite being a contemporary fad, this beauty ideal has been pursued there for centuries. One of the main developments that started this trend is the focus on skin care, over makeup. After all, who doesn't want a naturally glowy skin?

Glass skin routine

For a radiant glass skin, intense hydration with hyaluronic acid, nourishing antioxidants, regular exfoliation and the use of spf against skin aging are essential.  There are multiple ways to achieve glass skin, which is why we're sharing our favorite routine with you. With this routine, consistency and a little patience, you too will soon have beautiful glass skin*.

*Keep in mind that every skin is unique and results may vary.

Start by double cleansing the skin

The name says it all, with this method you double cleanse the skin. This way you thoroughly remove all (deep down) impurities. Start with our micellar foam to remove the first layer of makeup and residue. After the initial cleansing, rinse off the foam and then apply the triple AHA cleanser. Massage the cleanser into the skin thoroughly but gently for 2 minutes. Then rinse off and pat your face dry.

Exfoliate on two levels

Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and allows the skin to produce new cells. As the skin produces new cells, it prevents pores from clogging (read: pimples and blackheads), smoothes the skin and allows moisturizing products to penetrate the skin better.

Use our citric acid face scrub twice a week after cleansing to exfoliate the top layer of skin and experience smoother skin immediately. For long-lasting even skin, we recommend using our BHA/AHA exfoliant up to 3 times per week. This liquid exfoliant penetrates deep into the bottom layer of the skin to keep impurities away for a longer period of time.

Hydrate in layers

In addition to deep cleansing, hydrating the skin for a glass skin is essential. Hyaluronic acid is an important ingredient when it comes to hydration, as it is the star player in retaining moisture. The first layer of hydration can therefore be applied with our hylaronic acid toner. This goodie is suitable to use twice a day after cleansing the skin.

Next, apply our two hydrating serums; the vitamin C serum and the 10% niacinamide serum. In addition to moisturizing, both serums counteract hyperpigmentation and help shrink pores.

After letting the serums soak in, apply our hydrating moisturizer. This product also contains hyaluronic acid in addition to other moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin, coconut oil and shea butter.

Part of the glass skin is a rested and rested look. So our peptide eye cream comes in handy in this routine. The combination of peptides, shea butter, vitamin C and vitamin E combats puffy under-eyes, dark circles and fine lines. A must have for glass skin.

Protect what you love

By now it is well known to almost everyone that the sun contributes to premature skin aging. And if there's one thing that doesn't belong on a glass skin, it's fine lines and wrinkles. So our spf day cream to protect against daylight, sunlight and blue light (laptop, phone) is essential. Apply spf only during the day as the last step in your skincare routine. For long-term protection, it is recommended to apply the spf more often per day.
